It's Not Big And It's Not Clever

I'm surprised that I have not received any significant feedback on my diatribe against Tom Hanks a week or so ago. I was sure that this outburst would have provoked a reaction, although that was not my motivation.
Anyway one of the pieces of feedback that I did receive was from Eeeeee. A regular and welcome contributer to the blog. Eeeeee said...
"But what about BIG? Doesn't everybody love the movie Big? Didn't Tom Hanks make everyone want one of those giant piano things you could jump on?"
And I have to agree Big was a charming movie and indeed one which I have introduced my children to but I'm sorry this one movie stacked against the others listed in my previous post is not enough to save Old Tom.
Even if it were I would simply cite The Da Vinci Code and the scales would again tip in favour of the prosecution. Just when I thought he could never again make a movie as bad as Joe v. The Volcano or Bonfire Of The Vanities the Hanksmeister shocks us all with a new dog turd production. If you haven't seen the movie don't bother it is truly shite and you'll never be able to get those 2 and a half hours of your life back.

He can be forgiven much for producing the excellent Band of Brothers.
And he was in Mazes and Monsters. Did you mention that before?

I just went back and checked, and you didn't mention Maze and Monsters, so I feel I am due some sort of prize.

Incidentally, the invasion scenes from Private Ryan were astounding on the big screen.
Visceral would be a good word to describe it.

Woah, obscure reference alert.

10/10 Bawbag for Maze & Monsters. I had to go and look it up as I had never heard of it.

For those not in the know it was a 1982 TV Show which featured a young Tom Hanks.

If there was a prize I can confirm that Bawbag would have won it.

I still hate Tom Hanks though.
