Elizabeth I - 80 Not Out!

This weekend sees the Queen Of Great Britain & Northern Ireland celebrate her 80th birthday. Hoofuckingray!
Old queenie is known as Queen Elizabeth II. This is patently incorrect. If you know your history you will obviously be aware of this fact but if you don't then please read on and enjoy my little history lesson.
Let's be clear here it is quite incorrect to call her Queen Elizabeth II. She is certainly the second queen of England called Betty but Great Britain is made up of more than just England, this despite the best efforts of our (Scotlands) neighbours to convince you otherwise.
My passport is clearly labelled as being issued by The United Kingdom Of Great Britain & Northern Ireland and inside carries a nice little declaration by the Sceretary Of State on behalf of Her Maj. All of this backs up the received wisdom that Queenie is indeed Liz II.
As a proud Scot (I have yet to meet any other kind) I reject this. I do not however reject her postion, merely her title. Let's look at the facts. Queen Elizabeth I, daughter of Henry VIII died in 1603. Following her death she was succeded by James VI of Scotland who united the crowns of Scotland & England but not the governments. This event did not occur until The Act Of The Union in 1707.
It is quite obvious therefore that our current Queen is Queen Elizabeth II of England & Wales but merely Queen Elizabeth I of Scotland. A minor point I accept and probably not worthy of the time I have spent on this post but what the hell else was I going to do with my night?

Yes you're right it truly is a privilege that our German monarch, the richest woman in the world, deems Scotland worthy of consideration. And all for the bargain price of £10m per annum.
