No I'm not talking about my mail, rather I refer to the sublime debut album Young America from The Poems. Just released on The Minty Fresh label.
The Poems consist of Robert Hodgens, Adrian Barry, Amy Ogletree, the late, great Bobby Paterson and the ethereal vocals of Kerry Polwart.
Imagine Springsteen's bells...ok now add in some beautifully understated guitar riffs. Throw in some harmonies that would make Brian Wilson weep with envy, and the kind of polished yet sparse production that the finest moments of The Blue Nile enjoy. Finally finish off with a little sprinkle of Berry Gordy pop hook magic and hey presto! you are almost there.

Unfortunately the album is currently only available in the USA although I understand that a European release is being negotiated.
