Woah, weird day alert.
I've been posting this stuff for a month or so now and whilst I have received some extremely positive feedback and good support from the handful of people I have "outed" myself to (you know it's not easy saying the words my name is Dave and I'm a blogger) I received a ringing endorsement from a lady thousands of miles away that I've never met.
Keen readers, or is that reader?, will remember my tirade against rubbish blogs the other evening. I hope that they also recall the blogs that I held up as shining examples of "the art" at the end of the piece. The author of one of these has picked up on this site and made it the subject of her posting today. How cool is that? To paraphrase Andre 3000 & Outkast "What's cooler than being cool? ICE COOL!" And that my friends is precisely how I felt this morning when I stumbled across Shandi's post. So my friends to say a great big thank you to the lovely lady I have decided to elevate her Blog to the link section of my site.
The other weird thing about all of this is the 7 Degrees Of Seperation aspect at work. Shandi lives in Bakersfield, California. The only America I'd say that I knew well is also from Bakersfield although he hasn't lived there for around 20 years. As I said, weird.

This is one of the great mysteries of life (much like the Bermuda Triangle). At some point or another, we're all from Bakersfield. It's kindof like the way we're all going to Hell.
Bakesfield is lovingly referred to as "The Armpit of the State".
Consider yourself linked.
Here is yet another Kern County connection.......... That's Bakersfield to you Dave....
I am currently on leave in Washington DC having escaped from my usual deepest and darkest African haunts.
The friends I am visiting here have only just move from.......... You guessed it - Bakersfield.
Have we all just step into the twighlight zone or what?
PS - I was in Bakersfield in January of this year and November of last. Do I get a prize or was getting out of there my reward?
